We’re pleased to announce Vysana Clinic as the winner of our Aesthetics Clinic of the Year award.
Based in Rutland, Vysana is a doctor-led medical aesthetics and wellness clinic. It combines medical expertise with evidence-based treatments and a personal approach to skin health, wellbeing and healthy ageing.
Creating a clinic where patients have time to talk
Vysana was founded in 2017 after its founder had worked as a doctor in the NHS and as an Army GP.
Those roles gave her a strong medical background, but they also showed how difficult it could be to spend enough time understanding the person behind each appointment.
She created Vysana as a place where patients would be listened to and appointments would not feel rushed. The clinic brought aesthetics and skin health together with wellness and preventative medicine.
The business began with its founder handling everything herself, including consultations, reception and marketing. As Vysana grew, she learned more about what patients wanted from the clinic.
Many were not trying to look younger. They wanted to look well, feel more confident and understand how to care for themselves through different stages of life.
Taking time before recommending treatment
When a patient visits Vysana asking for a particular treatment, the consultation begins with what is bothering them, why it matters and what they hope to change.
That conversation may lead to a different recommendation, a smaller amount of treatment or no treatment at all.
Vysana would rather decline a booking than provide something the team does not believe is appropriate or in the patient’s best interests.
This careful approach supports the clinic’s preference for natural results and lasting patient relationships over quick fixes or passing trends.
Maintaining proper medical standards
Safety, education and medical oversight are central to the way Vysana works.
Becoming CQC registered was an important achievement for the clinic and reflected its approach to medical governance and patient safety within aesthetics.
Vysana has also been named a finalist at the Aesthetic Awards twice.
While the team is proud of these achievements, it considers the trust of its patients an even stronger measure of success. Many have visited Vysana for years and return as their needs change. They also recommend the clinic to friends, partners and relatives.
Understanding the wider picture
Some patients arrive with an aesthetic concern but find that there is more to discuss once the consultation begins.
This is particularly common among women in midlife who feel they suddenly look tired or have “aged overnight”. Changes in their skin, sleep, energy, hormones, health and confidence may all be relevant.
Vysana’s medical background allows the team to consider the patient as a whole instead of treating one concern in isolation. Where appropriate, the clinic can support both their medical wellbeing and how they feel about their appearance.
For some patients, Vysana also becomes an important point of contact for their healthcare. The team takes that responsibility seriously and understands the difference that having time to listen can make.

Choosing patients over trends
New products, techniques and trends appear regularly within the aesthetics industry.
Vysana does not pursue every new development or try to compete mainly on price. The clinic remains focused on medical standards, honest advice, natural results and strong patient relationships.
Patients receive clear information about their options and realistic expectations of what treatment may achieve. They are not pressured into making an immediate decision.
The team aims to run the kind of clinic its members would confidently recommend to their own relatives and friends.
Adapting through difficult periods
Vysana was still a young business when the Covid pandemic forced the clinic to close almost completely.
More recently, rising living costs have increased the expense of operating a medical clinic while reducing how much some patients can afford to spend.
The team has dealt with these pressures by maintaining its standards, listening to patients and adapting when circumstances change.
Its founder has also had to learn that practising medicine and managing a business require very different skills. Despite these challenges, Vysana has continued to grow without losing the principles on which it was founded.
Building trust in Rutland
Vysana values Rutland’s close sense of community and the importance local people place on personal relationships, recommendations and reputation.
The clinic understands that an independent business must earn trust over time.
What began as a local clinic now attracts patients from across the East Midlands and further afield, while remaining closely connected to the Rutland community.
Supporting causes and creating opportunities
Vysana has raised money for Teenage Cancer Trust, donated to its local food bank and supported local sports teams and community initiatives.
The clinic also welcomes students for summer internships and work experience. These placements allow young people to learn about healthcare and see what is involved in building and managing an independent business.
For Vysana, community support can be as simple as being present, offering help where possible and giving someone an opportunity to learn.
A special result for the team
Vysana told us the team was genuinely thrilled and a little overwhelmed to learn it had won Aesthetics Clinic of the Year.
Knowing that people had taken the time to vote made the result particularly meaningful.
Much of the team’s attention goes into caring for patients and improving the clinic, leaving little time to consider how far the business has come. The award gave everyone an opportunity to pause and recognise what they have achieved since 2017.
What the award means to Vysana
The award reassures Vysana that patients continue to value the principles behind the clinic.
While the aesthetics industry can place considerable attention on individual treatments, trends and prices, Vysana has concentrated on providing personal care backed by medical knowledge.
The recognition gives the team confidence as it develops the connection between aesthetics, skin health, wellness and medicine.
It also brings added responsibility. Vysana wants to continue improving and remain worthy of the trust its patients place in the clinic.
Giving patients greater confidence
For existing patients, the award recognises the care and standards they have experienced at Vysana.
For someone considering the clinic for the first time, it offers further reassurance that they will be listened to, properly informed and treated by a medically led team.
Aesthetic treatment is a personal decision. Vysana understands the trust involved when a patient places their appearance, health and confidence in someone else’s care.
Bringing aesthetics and healthy ageing together
Aesthetic and skin treatments will remain an important part of Vysana, but the team plans to connect these services more closely with preventative medicine and longevity.
Vysana’s view of ageing well goes beyond looking younger. The clinic wants to help people look well, feel well and stay well for longer.
Its next stage will develop the relationship between aesthetics, skin health, medical prevention and longevity while retaining the personal, doctor-led care that has defined Vysana from the beginning.
Thanking everyone behind the clinic
Vysana would like to thank every patient who has trusted the clinic, recommended it to others, supported the business or taken the time to vote.
The clinic also thanks everyone who has contributed to its development, past and present, along with the family members who have supported its founder through the long days and difficult periods of building the business.
Above all, the team wants patients to know that their trust is never taken for granted.
We’re pleased to recognise Vysana Clinic as our Aesthetics Clinic of the Year and celebrate a Rutland business known for its medical expertise, considered care and willingness to listen.
