About us
Who runs
My Local Awards
We are Marketic Group Ltd, registered in Manchester. We run these awards because a community already knows which local businesses are worth backing, and it deserved a straightforward way to say so out loud.
Trading since May 2019. Company number 17300328.
Where this came from
Why we
started this
Marketic has been working with small businesses since May 2019, and for most of that time we built their websites. That work put us in a lot of back offices, and the same thing kept coming up. A business would have an award on the wall and no real idea who had decided it. There was often a panel mentioned somewhere, rarely a name attached to one, and nothing at all that told you what the people who actually used the place thought of it.
So we built the thing we kept wishing existed. A community nominates the local businesses it loves, that community votes, and the votes decide. Our job is to run it properly and to publish exactly what the votes say.

The company behind the awards
My Local Awards is a trading name of Marketic Group Ltd. Every line below can be checked against the public register at Companies House, which is rather the point of publishing it.
- Registered name
- Marketic Group Ltd
- Company number
- 17300328
- Registered office
- Bartle House, 9 Oxford Court, Manchester, England, M2 3WQ
- Trading since
- Marketic has worked with small businesses since May 2019. Marketic Group Ltd was incorporated in June 2026, which is the date shown on the public register.
- What it costs
- Nothing to put a business forward, nothing to accept, and nothing to win. A winner who wants something to show for it can order a trophy or promotional material afterwards, and a winner who orders nothing has exactly the same award.
- How a winner is decided
- By public vote, with every vote confirmed by a code sent to a mobile. Nominees are listed alphabetically and no count is ever published, so nobody votes on the strength of what everybody else did.
The safeguards behind a result are set out on how voting is kept fair, and the journey a nomination takes is on how it works.
The short version
What we hold to
Three things the whole programme rests on. If any of them stopped being true, there would be no reason for the rest of it.
The community
are the judges
The people closest to a local business are the ones who decide it. We are accountable for running the award properly, and the result belongs to them.
Every vote
is a real person
A vote counts once the voter confirms a code we text to their mobile. It matters to us that a local business gets real votes from real people.
We go where
we are wanted
We add an award when a community tells us it matters locally, and we open a region when there is an appetite for one. Nothing here is a franchise.
If you have heard from us
Checking that a message is ours
We email local businesses about nominations, and an unexpected message about an award is exactly the sort of thing worth being careful about. Everything below can be confirmed without opening anything we sent you.
- Our email
- Every message we send comes from an address ending mylocalawards.co.uk, and team@mylocalawards.co.uk will always reach a person here.
- Our phone
- 0330 043 4083. Dial it from this website rather than from a message you have been sent, and you will get through to us.
- What we never ask for
- A password, a bank detail, or a payment to be nominated, to stay on a ballot, or to win. A message asking for any of those did not come from us.
- If something looks wrong
- Send it to team@mylocalawards.co.uk and we will tell you whether it came from us. We would far rather answer that question twice than not at all.
Have a look at
who has won
Every result we have published is on this site, with the award, the region and the date it was announced. It is a better answer to what we do than this page is.
