We’re pleased to announce Empire Scaffolding GB Ltd as the winner of our Scaffolding Business of the Year award.
Founded in 2000, the family-run company has built its name on reliable service, industry experience and professional standards. More than 25 years later, those values still guide how the business works.
Meeting a need for local scaffolding
Empire Scaffolding was established after its owners noticed a shortage of independent scaffolding companies in the local area.
Their aim was simple: to provide a dependable and professional service that customers could trust.
That approach has remained consistent as the company has grown. Empire Scaffolding now combines decades of practical experience with NASC accreditation, showing that its work meets recognised industry standards.
More than 25 years in business
Passing the 25-year mark is one of Empire Scaffolding’s proudest achievements.
During that time, the company has adapted to changes across the construction industry and the wider economy. It has continued to grow while remaining a family-run business with strong local connections.
Reaching this milestone has taken resilience, consistent service and a team that customers can rely on.
Working on the London Olympics velodrome
The project that stands out most for the Empire Scaffolding team is its work on the velodrome for the London Olympics.
Taking part in a national project of this size was a proud moment for the company. It showed how far Empire Scaffolding had come since starting as a local independent business.
The team remains proud to have contributed to one of the largest sporting events held in the UK.
Facing the Covid pandemic together
The Covid pandemic was one of the most difficult periods in the company’s history. It brought uncertainty to the construction industry and placed considerable pressure on businesses trying to continue working safely.
Empire Scaffolding credits its staff with helping the company through this period. Members of the team volunteered to continue working and kept the business moving during a challenging time.
Their loyalty and sense of responsibility showed the strength of the team behind the company.

Helping young people through sport
Empire Scaffolding supports several organisations that create opportunities for local children and young people.
One of these is the Harby Foundation, a local charity that helps underprivileged children take part in sport. The charity is run by the company’s secretary, Claire, and was established after her cousin died suddenly in his sleep at the age of 26.
The company also provides financial support to Switch Up Boxing, Parkside Boxing and the Pythian Club, which all work with young people in the local community.
Its support extends to local football. Empire Scaffolding sponsors Dunkirk F.C.’s ground, now called the Empire Sports Ground, and also supports Lowdham F.C.
For the company, these partnerships are about giving young people access to opportunities they might otherwise miss.
Taking responsibility locally
Empire Scaffolding believes young people are the future and that local businesses and residents have a part to play in supporting them.
This matters particularly when local services and opportunities become harder to access. It has influenced which organisations the company supports and how it contributes to the surrounding community.
Community involvement is part of what Empire Scaffolding believes it means to be a responsible local employer.
Reliability, experience and professionalism
When asked what makes Empire Scaffolding different, the team points to its reliability, experience and professionalism.
These qualities are especially important in scaffolding, where safety, timing and trust affect every project.
Customers need to know that work will be completed properly, agreed timescales will be respected and the people on site have the experience to work safely and efficiently.
Empire Scaffolding has spent more than two decades building its reputation around those expectations.
An award shared by the team
Empire Scaffolding is proud to have won Scaffolding Business of the Year, but sees it as an achievement shared by the entire team.
The company credits its progress to the hard work, dedication and loyalty of its staff. That close team spirit is captured in the phrase it uses: #EMPIREFAMILY.
The award recognises the business’s growth and the people who have helped it succeed for more than 25 years.
Continuing to grow
Empire Scaffolding plans to continue growing alongside the team it describes as exceptional.
The company will build on the foundations already in place while retaining the values that have guided it since 2000.
Reliability, professionalism, experience and support for the local community will remain central to the way the business operates.
Thanking everyone behind the business
Empire Scaffolding would like to thank every member of its team for their commitment throughout the years.
It would also like to recognise its customers, supporters, everyone who voted and those who have backed the company during more than two decades in business.
Their support has helped Empire Scaffolding grow from a local independent operation into an established name in the industry.
We’re pleased to recognise Empire Scaffolding GB Ltd as our Scaffolding Business of the Year and celebrate a family-run company that supports its team, customers and local community.
