The Pig & Whistle is a cosy village pub on the edge of Cartmel, combining a locals' bar with a bistro-style dining area. Under its current independent operators it serves pub grub with a playful twist, alongside quality cask ales, cocktails and an interesting wine list. A large beer garden with countryside views makes it a summer favourite. Its relaxed, community feel and consistently good food have earned it strong reviews from both tourists and regulars.
