Mio’s Coffee and Tapas Bar was voted Cafe of the Year in North East 2026 by the people who use them.
Mio's is a small independent coffee and food business in South Shields. Since 2012 it has served high quality food and coffee to the local community. The cafe also opens in the evening on selected days with tapas, flatbreads, burgers, drinks and cocktails. It focuses on quality refreshments above standard chain coffee shop fare.
